5. Cookies and similar technologies

When you visit the Website, we place cookies to ensure its proper functioning.

Cookies are small pieces of data that remain on your computer and record which pages you visit while browsing a website. Based on your choices regarding the placement of cookies on the device used to access the Website,= we use cookies to help us personalize your experience and to show you the most relevant information when you return to our website. In order to provide you with complete and accurate information about the cookies we use, please find below details about the cookies on the Website and the choices you have about activating or deactivating them. However, please note that, like all websites,

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small pieces of data that remain stored on the user's computer, mobile device or other equipment from which he accesses a certain website and which record, including depending on the user's options, his activity while browsing a website . Cookies consist of two parts: their name and their content (or value).

Why do we use cookies?

With the help of cookies, we can collect information about the preferences of the users of the Website, with the help of which we can improve your experience. The information we collect is, for example, your preferred language, username and password (so that you don't have to re-enter your login data every time you visit the Website and only if you opt for this option), the type of device used ( computer, mobile phone, etc.) to access the Website or the services you viewed (if applicable). Cookies make it possible to simplify the browsing experience on the Website, so that Maxbet has the opportunity to provide more relevant information to users, according to their needs.

Cookies help the efficient functioning of the Internet and result in friendly, efficient and personalized navigation for each user. Without them, the Website would not be able to respond effectively to your needs.

Furthermore, cookies help us, as owners of the Website, to take measures for the purpose of the continuous development of the online platforms we manage. Cookies can obtain valuable information on how the Website is used by visitors, so that Maxbet can offer you increasingly better browsing experiences.

Is my consent required for the placement of cookies?

It is not necessary to give your express consent to the use of cookies on this website except when it comes to cookies that (i) are not essential for the operation of the website and (ii) are not strictly necessary to provide you with access to the service (option) on the requested website.

With the exception of strictly necessary cookies (see the information below about strictly necessary cookies), we ensure that all users have the opportunity to choose to what extent they want the placement of other types of cookies in the context of using the Website. Each type of cookie, with the exception of strictly necessary cookies, requires a distinct consent from the user to be placed while browsing the Website.

Is my personal data collected through the use of cookies?

Some cookies collect anonymous information, which does not say anything about the Website user. Others collect information that can identify you, for example, your IP address or preferences for certain products/services.

What types of cookies do we use?

The cookies used within the Website are configured according to the specific purpose pursued by their use. In order for your experience on the Website to be as adapted as possible to your needs, Maxbet mainly uses the following types of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential to allow you to log in, navigate through the Website's functions and use it. For the use of these cookies, it is not necessary to obtain your consent. These cookies may also be used for security reasons, for example, to detect violations of our policies and for support and security functions.

  • Functional cookies

These cookies allow us, within the Website, to remember the selections you have made (such as language) and to offer you improved and personalized functions. For example, these cookies are used for authentication (keeping the period during which a user is authenticated) and supporting other component functions of the Website.

  • Performance cookies

These cookies collect information about your online activity (for example, the length of time you visit the Services), including behavioral data and measuring engagement with content. These cookies are used for analysis, research and statistics (based on aggregated information).

  • Marketing and advertising cookies

These cookies are used to provide content and advertising appropriate to your interests, as well as to run email marketing campaigns. They can also be used to limit the number of times an ad appears, as well as to help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. These are usually placed by our advertisers (eg ad networks) and provide them with internal information about people who see and interact with their ads, visit their websites or use their apps.

Both our cookies and third-party cookies are placed on the Website, through the request issued by the user's terminal, either to a Maxbet server or to a third-party server.

Cookies from third parties

Certain sections of content on the site may be provided through third parties/providers (eg a video, an advertisement, a chat application, etc.). These third parties may, always only with the consent of Maxbet, place cookies on the Website, through other websites operated by these third parties. Third-party providers must also comply with applicable law and Maxbet's privacy policies regarding the placement of cookies on the Website.

Third-party cookies are used primarily to provide you with a more useful experience, to make statistics about the number of visitors and how they use the Website. For example, the like or share buttons on certain websites operated by third parties may allow social networks to place cookies on the Website.

We do not control these third-party cookies or the information they may collect, so please consult the policy of those providers if you want to know more. Since these are sites operated by other people, the cookies that allow their content to be placed on our site come from their operators and not from Maxbet. Third parties may use cookies for their own purposes. For information about these third-party cookies, please see their cookie policies.

How can you control cookies?

Cookies can be controlled/deleted according to your preferences. You can delete all cookies from the device used and/or you can set most browsers to block their placement. However, please note that if you do so, you may need to manually set your preferences each time you access the Website. Also, some services or features may not work. At the same time, blocking cookies may lead to the incorrect display of some internet pages.

All modern browsers offer the possibility to configure cookie storage preferences. These settings are usually found in the "options" or "preferences" menu of the browser. To understand these settings, you can use the "help" option of the browser for more details.

8. How long will Maxbet keep my data?

We will retain your information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is collected.

While you are a customer, we will need to retain your information to meet our legal and contractual requirements. However, when you stop using the Maxbet Services, we will still retain your personal information for a period of time. There are several reasons why we keep your information, including:

  • To comply with legal obligations under EU / local law (eg anti-money laundering regulations or licensing regulations);

  • Our legitimate interests for which we have carried out proportionality analyses;
  • To comply with the practical guidelines issued by the competent data protection authorities.

9. Your Rights and Choices Regarding Your Personal Information

We appreciate that under the law and subject to certain conditions, you have certain rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you. If you wish to exercise these rights, you must contact our Data Protection Officer using the details set out above in Section 2. These rights include, but are not limited to, the right to access, amend and delete personal information that you we have about you, the right to object to the processing of your data, the right to withdraw consent and the right to data portability. You also have the right to complain to the competent data protection authority if you are concerned about how we process your information. Furthermore, you have certain rights related to automated decision-making and "profiling". Further information and advice on your rights can be obtained from the relevant data protection authority, the Office of the Data and Information Protection Commissioner ("IDPC") in Malta or from the data protection regulator in your country.

The personal information we request for registration is mandatory (unless indicated on the forms as optional) and we need it to be able to process your registration, to contact you and to comply with financial and gambling laws. Unfortunately, therefore, if you do not wish to provide such personal information, you will not be able to use our services.

9.1. The right to access and correct the information we hold about you

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, known as a data subject access request. You also have the right to request that information we hold about you, which may be incorrect or has changed since you first provided it to us, be updated or removed. These requests are free of charge and can be made by emailing our Data Protection Officer or by contacting Customer Service (see Section 2).

9.2. The right to delete your data

In certain situations, you can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you ("the right to be forgotten"). This includes situations where:

  • the information is no longer necessary in relation to the purpose for which it was collected (as explained in our privacy notice);
  • if you have given your prior consent to the use of your information but have decided to withdraw it and we cannot justify another legal basis for using it under data protection legislation;

9.4. The right to data portability

You have the right to receive the personal information you provide to us in a "common, machine-readable" format. This allows you to obtain and reuse your information for your own purposes for different services. For example, if you decide to switch to a different provider, this allows you to easily move, copy or transfer your information between our IT systems and theirs, safely and securely, without affecting their ease of use . However, this is not a general right and only arises when the processing of your information is:

  • based on your consent or if it is necessary for the performance of a contract;
  • when the information is processed exclusively by automated means.

9.5. The right of opposition

Depending on your particular situation, you can object to the processing of your personal information, which is:

  • based on our legitimate business interests (including profiling); or
  • conducted for research and statistical purposes.

9.6. Right to withdraw consent

We will always strive to facilitate withdrawing your consent by selecting the "unsubscribe" option in each communication you receive from us. If you believe that this is not the case, simply contact our Data Protection Officer as described above in Section 3 and we will try to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

9.7. Rights related to automated decision-making, including profiling

  • fraud detection - we use your personal information to help you decide and detect whether your account may be used for fraud or money laundering. If we believe there is a risk of fraud, we may block or suspend your account;
